This is the Original (1sh) 1969 German A1 movie poster BULLITT. To promote this movie when it was released in 1969. The first release of the movie in the United States was in 1968, October 17, 1968 to be exact. This 1969 original German movie poster is not a reprint nor a reproduction. The movie stars Steve McQueen, Don Gordon, Robert Vaughn, Robert Duvall, Jacqueline Bisset , Simon Oakland, Felice Orlandi, and John Aprea. BULLITT was directed by Peter Yates.
This restored movie poster is Rolled and linen backed and measures 23.5" x 33". With linen backing it measures 25" x 34.50". This poster has never been Folded. This original, German movie poster is graded C8.5 Very Fine to Near Mint. Original movie posters are graded as follows from the top down: C10 (Mint), C9 (Near Mint), C8 (Very Fine), C7 (Fine/Very Fine), C6 (Fine or Very Good), C5 (Good to Very Good), C4 (Good), etc. This original movie poster has a very strong and clean appearance with (what I believe) to be a much more classic and cool look to it than the original US One Sheet (which is 27" x 41"). Prior to restoration, this original movie poster was also graded C8.5 Very Fine/Near Mint.
The very minor flaws that existed prior to the recent (Nov 10, 2019 completed) restoration were as follows. "There is a 1" mark at the top left corner on the linen, not the poster. There is a tiny (1/16) faint blackish mark to the left of McQueen's nose. There are 2 horizontal lines on the right side in the "reddish/orange" area, which are very hard to see unless under close inspection and bright light. There are semi-circle like marks on the bottom in front of the name "DUVALL" and in the "G" in "VAUGHN".All of these marks are rub-off (smudges) from the lettering of the poster. These flaws have been eliminated and the poster is now pristine. That previous price included and estimation of the restoration costs, which we estimated on the high side. We feel that the original 1969 German movie poster BULLITT h as significant investment value and thus will continue to grow in value throughout the years. The movie Bullitt has been cited as one of the significantly important films of all time. BULLITT was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". Is also notable for its car chase scene through the streets of San Francisco, which is regarded as one of the most influential in movie history. In addition, there will always be fans and collectors of Steve McQueen memorabilia, and of course fans and collectors of this timeless and classic movie. The high grade of C8.5 also adds to its value and investment value, while the linen backing will help to preserve its superior condition. Finally, we feel that the German version of the original 1969 movie poster BULLITT is a more striking image than its U. Counterpart, which may increase the value and investment value.
